And the storage CLEARLY showed the full 4TB available (not sure why other reviewers only got 3.86 TB). This is a newer unknown brand but I will take my chances since there is a 5 year warranty and I do not anticipate any issues.

I wanted to like and keep the fanxiang S770 4TB SSD.
The drive would consistently Freeze/Fail within a few minutes of connecting with External USB housings with heat sink in place (one with fan-cooled heat sink).
While attempting to troubleshoot, I tested the S770 with multiple housings, multiple USB-C and USB-A cables (including brand new high-speed-rated USB-C cable), on three different computers.
I have Silicon Power, XPG and Crucial NVME SSD that never failed at all on the external connection combinations.
Installed internally, I did not experience the drive freezing (but for how long?) and it met the advertised high speeds.
I then requested a replacement, since this drive seemed to be defective. I had the exact same experience with the replacement S770.
I don't understand why the S770 works installed internally but not externally, and therefore don't trust it enough to keep it.
As stated, I have other NVME SSDs that run very reliably when connected with USB. I don't think I will try fanxiang again.
